The National N1 – N3 Certificate in Building and Civil Engineering will school you in the various fields of construction like Bricklaying, Plastering, and Plumbing and once these certificates have been achieved you will be able to continue your studies with the N4 – N6 Certificates which will lead to the full National N-Diploma.

Course Outline
The Higher Certificate in Project Management: Construction Management NQF5 will provide students with an industry-focused vocational skillset that focuses on the set of tools and techniques used for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of projects, which are applicable across a range of various problem domains. The qualification will enhance work readiness and provide entry into the field. A Project Manager applies knowledge of project management to achieve project objectives in a specific field of application.
Construction management introduces students to important foundational concepts within the construction and occupational health and safety (OHS) industry. Students will gain an understanding of the industry’s best practices, management tools, policies and procedures, legalities, and documentation as well the operational requirements thereof. This module will efficiently prepare students for OHS operations and effective management within the construction environment.
The NATED N1-N6 Civil/Building Engineering qualification covers levels N1-N6 and is designed to provide the theory of Civil/Building Engineering and an optional practical component. You can attain a National Certificate or Diploma once you have worked 24 months (2000 working hours) in your field of study. This qualification consist of one compulsory part (N1-N6 theory) and two optional practical parts, beginners level (done between N1-N3) and advanced (done between N4-N6)
Admission Requirements
- N1 Entry Requirement: Grade 9 (Std 7) Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science OR
no formal qualification for everyone 23 years or older. - N3 Entry Requirement: Grade 11 (Std 9) Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science or N2
- N4 Entry Requirement: Matric/Grade 12 (with full mathematics and science 40%+ Passrate), or N3 Pass (with mathematics and science)
NOTE: Proceed to next level only when the previous level has been successfully completed i.e. N4 for N5, etc.
The NATED N1-N3 Plumbing qualification is a qualification from Levels N1-N3 focusing on the theory of plumbing. This qualification meets the academic requirements for you to write your trade test once you have acquired the required practical hours. This qualification consists of one compulsory part (N1-N3 theory) and two optional practical parts, beginners level (done between N1-N3) and advanced (can be done after N3).
This part is compulsory. Students are required to complete all their N1-N3 theory subjects to attain their national certificate and diploma. The details of these subjects can be found under the curriculum tab.
You can complete a BEGINNER level, 1 week program of optional practical hours within your field of study. This is done just after either N1 or before N3 and you will be given a certificate and logbook of the components that you have completed.
You can complete an ADVANCED level, 1 week program of optional practical hours within your field of study. This is done just after either N4 or before N6 and you will be given a certificate and logbook of the components that you have completed. Part 2 to be completed first.

National Diploma: Structural Steelwork Detailing Qualification will provide learners with the standards required to satisfy the challenges of participating effectively in the steel construction industry as a structural steel detailing specialist. Skills covered in this qualification relates to the production of structural steel detailing drawings for fabrication and erection of steel structures as well as the understanding of the steel construction industry and how to operate within the legislative, safety and quality systems which govern this industry.
This qualification has been developed to assist with standardisation across the steel construction industry. This will allow a person to register as a structural steel detail draughtsman and lay a foundation for future career advancement to supervisory and management qualifications within the sector. For those who have been in the workplace for a long time, this qualification can be used in the recognition of prior learning process to assess and recognise workplace skills acquired.
